Thinkpad X220 Keyboard possible water damage

#1 Post by deeg05 » Sat Dec 26, 2020 1:08 am

I've spilled a little bit of water (nothing serious for motherboard it appears) on keyboard of my beloved X220. Now, right mouse button of trackpoint refuses to work. Anybody knows how can I fix that issue?

maybe, just MAYBE a little alcohol MIGHT chase any remaining water out BUT i doubt it IS repairable..
probably best to buy a replacement..
check alibaba first or even lenovo..
good luck with it.. :)

Well... I've removed keyboard, heated it on room heater and it started working again :D
Buying replacement (4000 RUB for original, 3000 RUB for knockoff, both on aliexpress) is kinda expensive to be honest, I'm very happy that it works now
Hope that this would be helpful for someone!
