Hey all!
I just got a broken x200 from Japan for a decent price, and I didn't even think about the keyboard being different.
I'm not at all unhappy with this as I think it increases the memepower lol. It has all the standard QWERTY keys and most of the same layout, but there are additional keys that are not present on western keyboards, and I really want to know what they are for. If anyone has a translation or knows where I could find that, please let me know.
Thanks!

Re: Japanese x200 keyboard translation
To understand what the keys do requires a basic understanding of the four types of alphabets used in Japan. Romaji (Romanized characters - latin/English type), Hiragana (traditional Japanese and grammar), Katakana (usually used for sounds in words borrowed from other languages) and Kanji (Chinese characters).
The main keys are in more or less the typical QWERTY layout. The Hiragana and Katakana are also printed on the keys.
Looking up an image of the keyboard, the one on the right to the left of Alt changes between the different alphabets that represent sounds (Romaji, Hiragana and Katakana). The one to the left of that tells the software that previously typed characters are to be converted into the Chinese Kanji after being entered; the key to the left of the number keys determines the type of Kanji suggested as you type. The key to the left of the spacebar turns conversion off.

Re: Japanese x200 keyboard translation
Thanks theterminator93!!!!
That's exactly what I wanted to know. Obviously being a strictly English speaker I have no need for it, but the extra keys are going to be useful when I remap it, and now I can explain it when friends ask about it
It really ups the cool factor for me lol.
Thanks again.
