Hi,

I'd like to ask two questions in this post.

1) Should this peeling off worry me? Is this normal, or an indicator that this is not an original part?

2) I bought this x220 laptop with keyboard supposedly original, but it's in such good condition I cannot believe. How to easily check that?

Genuine X220 in original condition do NOT have such a film/skin.
Yours is there to hide/cover the signs of (ab)use on the original housing.

Looks like It has been “refurbished” with a sticker.

Wear and tear is normal especially on a 14 year old laptop. If it was mine id peel it off all the way.

I followed the advice. The condition is not bad at all.

The same foil is on the back cover. It always felt sus to me. I am not brave enough to remove that back lid cover though. I'm used to the look and it is actually protective.

I would still really like to know if this is the original keyboard...

It could be an original, but definitely resprayed, keyboard.
It looks way too "clean".

The enter key is way too blue, and on the other hand, the blue accents on the other keys are gone. Font feels a bit different. I doubt someone would refurbish an original keyboard by meticulously repainting/replacing every key, so it is most likely a knock-off. But, if it works, it works.
