Anyone know what SSD is in the X300?

SSD performance seems to be hit or miss, with only a few drives by Mtron and the like putting up good overall scores.

I know the SSD in the x300 is a samsung, but what model? I hope it's not the slow ones they sell on newegg and the like. Perhaps this is a yet to be released model that Lenovo gets early?

EDIT: I'm hoping it's the new samsung that has 100mb write and 120mb read speeds; it would make sense as the picture in the other thread shows a Sata II interface on the SSD, and the only SSD samsung makes that is SATA II and 64GB has list speeds equivalent to the Mtron, not like the slow Macbook Air SSD!

I know but I can't find the model number on it. Maybe I'm just blind :P

Well since the guy in the thread actually has it, why don't you ask him to either look in the Device Manager or run a benchmark on it?

Part number looks like MCCOE64G8MPP-0VA but there is not much info on the drive.

Dell, in its Direct2Dell site, posted this article today about a new high-performance SSD that they'll be introducing. It's based on Samsung SATA II-SSD technology. I wonder if that's what the X300 is using. Here's the post:

I think that this is the new one.

Previous 1,8" SSD from Samsung were only available in PATA (like the one in the MacBook Air, which is slow, compared to other SSDs). This one is SATA and indicated as sample on Samsung's Website.

That's why I think, and hope, that this SSD is the latest and fastest :)
