I thought the price starts from $2400?
Plus some 20% discount will make this under 2 grands, then I might be able to source one.
but seems like it from $3,006.00

How much discount can you get?
Whatever I do the price starts from $3,006.00

Sale price should be showing $xxxx.xx.

Yes, but when you click Customize and buy, the price bumps up to $3000

I checked on two computers and both are showing the sale price as $xxxx.xx even after adding to my mart. You might want to clear your cache and try it again.

Verizon or AT&T options?

Looks like the current models listed can't be configured with built in Verizon or AT&T modems. Guess I'll be holding off on that order a while longer....

Using EPP discount and the 10% coupon posted on the lenovo site brought the price down to xxxx.xx before tax. That's with the UWB option and bay battery instead of DVD-ROM. Seems like a killer deal.

no option for atheros cards?

Where's the GPS? Has anyone figured out how all the radios are placed in there?
Even the exploded views of the X300 only show the WAN and WWAN radio. Where does the GPS and bluetooth radio fit? Does WiMax replace the WWAN? How many of these can be added after-market?

WOW been waiting for this one for awhile. At 2K is a bit steep. I am going to wait awhile first until the price settle and see if anyone has beta "problems" with it.

Edited.
Hmmmm, lenovo seem to be changing the offer quite fast due to several errors on their webpage.....

The link on Lenovo's site doesn't even work for me right now. When I click on the "View Models" button, all I get is the error message: "No content defined for container body-content-url".
Guess I'll have to patiently wait.
Nothing yet on the X200 either, which I'm interested in because of the smaller size. Perhaps the X200 isn't really going to happen.

OK Guys, If you can get an EPP price, good for you. Not everyone can and it is against the rules to discuss EPP pricing so keep your prices to yourself or compare in PM's.
From the Rules of the Road:
3. Do not post links, model availability, or pricing information from sites that restrict their purchasing to specific narrow groups (e.g. EPP [employee purchase] or specific Education sites). The members of these institutions can find their information through their employer or organization. Posting the links or information without prior permission from Lenovo/IBM is of questionable legality. Those that are entitled to these discounts have no problem finding the site directly from Lenovo/IBM, their employee friend, or their school bookstore.

Is everyone ordering this thing without the WWAN? It wouldnt be such a big issue with me if the unit had pcmcia or expresscard but without those I will wait til the WWAN units start making their way into distribution.

According to this
http://www.engadget.com/photos/secrets- ... ou/641839/
There are 2 full PCI-e and 1 half PCI-e. It seems then that there can only be up to 3 radios, out of the 6 choices (UWB, GPS, WWAN, WAN, WiMax, Bluetooth). But the reviews seem to say that it can hold more than 3 at the same time. Maybe some are built-in?

Yes, it just went up by around $200. Also, last night upgrade to Vista Ultimate was $0 but now it's $56.00.

Man, I saw the original post right after midnight and was clicking through the order page on my laptop in bed (when it was $2,488.80 with DVDRW and free Vista Ultimate). But I fell asleep before I finished checking out, and found this morning that the price had gone up over $200
My question is, will we be able to find the 'US TopSeller' preconfigured models (listed in the tabook) with a similar discount as the current customizable model which is on sale?
If so, I'd rather wait to get the WWAN+GPS. Then again I wouldn't want to pay hundreds of dollars extra...

I guess they are, but I wouldn't buy one without built-in WWAN myself. I talked to a Lenovo sales rep who said they weren't on the web-site becuase this was the first day the X300 was available. He didn't have hany eta on when the WWAN models would be availalable, and wouldn't hazard any guess on whether it would be before or after the listed March 3 expiration date for the sale. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later...
