Integrated webcam performance and software?

#1 Post by Toups » Thu Mar 06, 2008 4:32 pm

Anyone have any experience with the integrated camera?

Specifically, how does it perform, what angle lens, focused...?
Also, does it come with any "cool" consumer style software such as dynamic backgrounds or visual effects?

A sample image would be ideal!

i hate those "cool" effects... i probably don't think it does come with any as the machine is a business machine. You don't want it going off when you're on a confrence call with the boss. LOL

My friend JoJo got it on her Dell and yeah she loved it and all but now she probably doesn't even remember them anymore if she even uses the cam. Sometimes she hates it cuz people are always trying to view it since they know it's built-in.

besides video conferencing, the camera will eventually be used for lenovo's new "veriface" face-detection security system implemented on the new ideapad models.

Hi,
I have only used it breifly for a test with Cisco IP Communicator and Video Advantage and it works well.
Picture is clear and sharp.
The Vista build I have has the Lenovo camera center installed but it seems to only be link to download some video conferencing software from Lenovo (which I dont need due to Cisco IPC).
Have not seen any effects etc as an option.
