It looks like the X300 uses the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 - anyone know what the maximum external video resolution would be on this ThinkPad?

my biggest disappointment is that the max resolution on the dock is 1200 x 1024 (or something similar). That pretty much eliminates any monitor over 17" . Hopefully there will be some kind of improvement in the future.

I'm having issues with external video

I have a Viewsonic 28" monitor, VX2835wm, 1920x1200 resolution.

I was using a T60 with a docking station and DVI out to drive it. It worked perfectly. Now I am trying to use the X300 via the VGA port. I can select the proper resolution, but the image is totally screwed up, with the left 4 inches of the screen left blank.

Any thoughts on what is going on?

I took my T60, hooked it up via VGA to the monitor (same cable) and was able to use the native resolution, so the problem is at the X300 side.

Anyone knows what are WIDE-ASPECT resolution(s) that the X3100 can output via the D-sub VGA port? (for connecting to an LCD-TV)

1920x1200 @ 32-bit.   2560x1600 requires a DVI connection.
