Isn't that weak of them, It clearly says on my order 4965AGN, on the card itself it says 4965AG. That is extremely rediculous.
CTO models are sent with the 4965AG as shown on the website when you order. if it's a preconfigured model (6478-xxU or 6477-xxU) then they are supposed to have the 4965AGN card.
when you ordered were you given the opportunity to choose an AGN card? what does your order say specifically? what is the FRU number of the card when you do a parts lookup on your machine?

it's likely an error on the order email. CTO models, to my knowledge, have never been shown on the website with an AGN card as an option. your email may be misleading but you probably got exactly what was originally ordered via the website.Toups wrote:My CTO shows the same, but was shipped with the AG only. I am calling Lenovo now to see what the solution is.
all three X300 base CTO configs on the website show this:
what does your order email say specifically? a cut-and-paste of that line item would be good.lenovo.com wrote:Wireless Card / Help me decide

out of curiosity, how did you order a CTO with an AGN adapter? it's not an option on the website.
i just created a quote to test this out and my order says the following:
"42V8182 SBB INT.WL.WF/4965AGN 11N/DIS"
take note that 11N/DIS is short for 11N disabled. this is the 4965AG_ card.
would you mind cutting and pasting the same line item from your order for comparison?

Lenovo X300 Current Model Information
Hey Guys,
I was alerted to this post by a reader on our website www.logictv.com, where we have a review of Lenovo's X300. I contacted Lenovo to get the official word on the issue, since it seems like an oversight for the X300 to ship without Wireless-N support.
From the time of the X300's release, it was originally offered on the official website with the Intel 4965 AG card, without Wireless-N. However, users who phoned Lenovo sales directly were able to choose the Intel 4965 AGN card with Wireless-N.
Two days ago, Lenovo upgraded their web CTO's to include the new Wireless-N option as standard, hence the confusion.
Please keep in mind that if you're purchasing your X300 from a reseller, they most likely have the previous Wireless-G configuration in stock.
You're getting Wireless-G if you purchased:
You can check out the review here if you want an idea of what this system is capable of:

Hope this helps.

You're getting Wireless-G if you purchased:
- From the website or a reseller before March 25th.
- On the phone and requested Wireless-N.
- On the website on or after March 25th.
- From a reseller on or after March 25th that's carrying the updated model.
