Hi,

after installing a Mod-BIOS 1.02a (thanks guys!!!), I was able to start my 6478-14G with new MC8780 - it was orded as a spare part for a FSC laptop... :D
But it looks like Lenovo provides old HSDPA drivers, there are not compatible with MC8780! :(
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-67955

Therefore following steps:
- use latests 3G/UMTS drivers from Fujitsu-Siemens support page (Vista downloads for e.g. Lifebook S6410);
- install Generic 3G Watcher - to eliminate FSC-Logo at ThikPad 8)
- and finally install Lenovo HSDPA pakage - it looks like original Lenovo driver is needed...

Now I'm able to establish 3G/HSPA connection, but following:

1) ThinkVantage Access Connections (version 4.52) is not recognize the WWAN adaptor and not able to control it;

2) Lenovo GPS software do not recognize any A-GPS card;

3) MC8780 displayed in device manager like:
Network card:
"Sierra Wireless HSDPA Network Adapter #2"
Modems:
"Sierra Wireless AirCard HSDPA Modem"
"Sierra Wireless MC8780 HSDPA Modem"

May be it is a problem in the device's name "... #2"?
Any idea, how it is possible to rename it under Vista?

In the WWAN pakage Lenovo provides 2 additional utilities:

1) -----------------------

C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WWANUMTS\Driver>TpDevPE.exe /WWAN
TpDevPE v1.04

WWAN : Installed

2) -----------------------

C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WWANUMTS\Driver>DetWWAN.EXE
