#1 Post by erik » Thu Apr 17, 2008 7:05 pm

BIOS 1.03b was released earlier today, april 17th:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-69538

* (New) Enabling ODD Power Management, the power is off when Optical Device Drive is idling.
* (New) Support WiMAX communication standard.
* (New) Intel Memory Reference Code update.
* (New) Update of Intel AMT 2.6 Management Engine Region Firmware (the models with Intel AMT 2.6 feature only).
* (Fix) Boot error occurs at Intel ICH8M SATA initilization.
* (Fix) The boot sequence is different from the expected one in case of Wake on LAN(WOL).

this is considered by lenovo as a critical BIOS update.

Well, FWIW, running Business Vista, I installed the 1.03b BIOS three or four days ago when (to my surprise) it showed up as I was trying every driver update and every new intel graphics driver and upek fingerprint driver I could find to get sp1 to show up on windows update.

I saw neither sight nor sound of sp1, but I've had no problems at all with the new BIOS.
