Vista resume from Sleep mode, and no sound?

#1 Post by hafan » Fri May 16, 2008 11:23 am

hello I have a problem after the Hibernation or sleep mode my
sound suddenly stops working. The only thing to get it working again is to
restart my x300. If anyone has any suggestions?

I have Vista with SP1 included patch 937077 - A high definition audio device may no longer work after you resume Windows Vista from hibernation or from sleep

I've been noticing the same thing. It doesn't do it all the time. I'm guessing it has something to do with power management, but haven't yet been able to come up with a consistent test case.

Sound on my system is also not working and alternates on/off when Im on Youtube and completely off when watching DVDs. Ive done the factory restore and updated the system drivers without success.

Other posts have indicated Lenovo won't cooperate on this issue so I'm left bewildered as to how to solve this issue.

A few months ago I posted that upon waking from sleep mode, my Win XP Pro X300's right-side audio stopped working. Fortunately, I've never had any subsequent problems with the audio or speakers after waking from sleep mode or under any other situation. Unfortunately, there was no solution or suggestion as to what caused that one-time malfunction.
