[NOT-SOLVED] Mouse Wheel Scroll Lines Setting does not stick

I often use an external mouse (no additional driver needed). After every reboot, the setting "Mouse Wheel Scroll Lines" in Control-Panel -> Mouse -> Wheel is reset to 1 (I am using Vista). This is really annoying because it slows down scrolling extremely.
Does anyone have the same problem?
I think its caused somehow by the ALPS touchpad driver (The X300 has a really bad one, the Synaptics pads built in previous Thinkpads were WAY BETTER).

Isn' t it nice when you' re able to solve your problems yourself? Judt did that :smileyvery-happy:
I was right. It' s the ALPS Touchpad driver that resets the setting on boot. Luckily, there is a separate registry key for the ALPS driver. Hopefully, Lenovo will include this change in next driver releases. Scroll 3 Lines is Windows' default setting and I think thats a good value. Currently, Lenovo's ALPS driver resets this to 1.
Solution: Goto HKLM\Software\Alps\Apoint\TrackPoint and change value of "ScrollType" to 3 (HEX and DEC is same while we are below 10).
Doing this, my value sticks at 3 even after reboot.
Hope this helps anyone.

I'm afraid that did not fix it. As soon as I use the touchpads scroll feature, it gets reset to one. Has anyone else a solution for this [censored]?

Same observation here. The scroll wheel setting is lost as soon as you use the Thinkpad's pointing device. Not a huge problem as I use a wireless mouse almost all of the time. It would be nice if Lenovo could fix this bug though.
