Unknown Device - No Drivers!

I've just used Lenovo's recovery discs to swipe off Vista and installed Windows XP instead.

Upon every boot up, the system is detecting an unknown device and the system can't find the drivers from Windows Update nor the recovery discs. In Windows System Device Manager, it just shows up classified under "Other Devices" and says "Unknown Device". Therefore, its a total mystery.

Has anyone encountered this problem before? How was it resolved?

I can stop Windows from reminding me about finding the device but this would be last resort.

Hi

I tried that but I couldn't figure what how it would show the device having the problem. I downloaded another software and it would seem that the device is related to the network card "MS_PSCHEDMP" . I've reinstalled the network devices but it doesn't seem to resolve the problem.

Any other suggestions?

Hi,

I do have the original Lenovo recovery discs and used it for converting the original Vista install to Windows XP. The conversion went without a single hitch.

Btw, Lenovo support has not reverted back to me with a solution and it's be a week since I heard from them. :?
