Where did the 10GB hard drive space go?

My x300 came with vista ultimate installed. I have only installed Symantec antivirus and set up a VPN network to work. However, the hard drive (drive c: no partition) now has only 31.2 GB left.

The hard drive has a total of 59.6 GB to start with. When I add up all the files and subfolders in the Drive c: folder, it comes to 15.3 GB. When I run disk cleanup, it tells me the Hibernation feature takes up an additional 2.98 GB. 15.3 + 2.98 = 18.3.

18.3 +31.2=49.5 Where is the remaining 10 GB? The system dose have system restore feature turned on. Is that what's taking up the 10 GB? Would I get the 10 gb back if I turn the system restore feature off?

Thanks.

Never Mind. I found the answer in an earlier post.

It's the shadow copy storage volume:

7.756 GB used and 7.98.3 GB allocated.

Also the page file size used (Virtual memory) was 3.36GB.

These add up to about 10-11 GB, which is what I was looking for.

Thanks to those who replied to the earlier post.
