I want to wait for the new generation of T or X machines but I need XP and notice that the XP downgrade is no longer offered by Lenovo on the X300... does anyone know if it will be offered on these new machines?

I'm also interested in an XP downgrade. I seem to recall however that the downgrade was only available until the end of June this year.

Anyone have anything definite?

Microsoft limited the time OEM's can offer XP as a preinstalled option to the end of June.
I believe OEM's can offer the XP downgrade until the end of the year but they don't have to.
I think the downgrade rights from Microsoft do not expire but you have to downgrade on your own. That means get your own XP cd and call Microsoft to activate. It also means you may be on your own as far as drivers go. If Lenovo never offers XP on a particular model they may not offer drivers for it. Then you will have to become resourceful.
