Need a ThinkPad by August 22

Hi,

I'm heading off for college on August 22 and I am currently in the market for a ThinkPad. I've been thinking about a T-series or X-series, but I'm leaning towards the X-series. I like what the X200 brings to the table and so I'm waiting until August 5 to place my order. I haven't ordered from Lenovo before so I was wondering whether anybody knew when I could have it delivered by. Also a few more questions:

2. Will there be coupons available for the the T400 and X200 immediately on August 5?

3. Will there still be coupons available for the older models, the T61 and X61?

Basically I'm going to wait till August 5 to see if I want to go with the X200, but if the configuration I want is too pricey, I may have to go with an older model.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Every time I've tried to order a recently released X series there has been a delay of weeks. If you need that laptop before you head off, consider something already released.

Get an X61s or t. They're still on sale and heavily discounted.

The current edition of TAbook (ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/pc/pcinstitu ... tabook.pdf) was posted on 7/16. The next edition of the TAbook (which hopefully will list the X200) probably won't be out till about the same time in August, and who knows when they'll actually ship to single-unit purchasers.

my IBM provider told me that maybe in september this computer will be available, 'cause in august IBM in spain works at minium...

we'll have to wait...
