Buying a x200t from Hong Kong/China

I was thinking of asking my friend to pick up a x200 tablet when he goes to Hong Kong at the end of August. Would the notebook even be availiable? Are there any major issues that I should look out for?
I know the OS would be in Chinese but could I call Lenovo Canada to get an English version later? Furthermore, would I be able to upgrade the warranty to a 3 year next day on-site with Thinkpad Protection when I get the notebook in Canada?

You can ask them for English OS as well. I did that in HK before.

When you got the English O/S, was it the same thing they sell in the states?

Exactly the same as other English versions of XP. To be honest, English is also the official language in HK.
