I saw that earlier today, and thought about ordering it, sell the computer, and put the disk in a T400 :)

They fixed it now, though. Wonder if anyone got the awesome deal :D

Wow, that's pretty amazing. Wonder if they'll catch it and bill you the extra.

I've been wanting to get an x200 for some time now... excited by the launch price of 1200.... but apparently that price point didn't get hit. Is there a chance it'll be changed after the early adopters get their machines?

I don't see the 128GB SSD. Was it pulled off?

They will catch it, and while they probably won't bill you extra, you won't be getting a 128 GB SSD... there's a disclaimer about typos and other website errors specifically for this purpose.

("You" used generally.)

Yes, it was removed soon after half of the internet found out about it and naively rushed off to buy.

Not a bad strategy to drive sales, really.

http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/06/lenovo-x200-128gb-ssd-option-gone-not-being-honored-move-along/ wrote:That wasn't fun at all, actually. Turns out the $-70 128GD SSD option for the ThinkPad X200 was not only a mistake, but the part isn't even available. Eager orderers received the following e-mail from Lenovo this morning:

Dear Valued Lenovo Customer,

We are contacting you with regard to your recent Lenovo X200 order.

Please note that we recently experienced a web error which caused the price of the 128GB Solid State Drive to be erroneously listed at $0.
Unfortunately, we are unable to honor this pricing; in addition, the part is currently not available.

As a token of appreciation for your patience and understanding, we are pleased to offer you a substitute of either a 64GB Solid State Drive
or a 200GB Hard Disk Drive (7200rpm) free of charge in place of the 128GB Drive.

To accept this offer, please reply to this email and fill out the below fields by Monday August 11th with your selection.

*** If we do not receive a reply by that date, your order will be cancelled at that time.

We can't exactly hate on Lenovo for not honoring the mistake, especially since they're offering a 64GB SSD in exchange. We just hope whoever is responsible is getting the what-for. Sorry, people, move along on this one.

I've just checked lenovo website and now they're taking off X200 from the list :(

I wonder if they traumatized by how many "naive" ppl who chose 128 SSD.

Hope it'll get posted soon with discount like any other X series

If I'm reading this right, they're offering the 64 GB SSD for the original "$70 less than smallest hard drive" price.

Which is an amazing deal still, considering the upgrade price is well north of $500. I wonder how many people are going to cancel.

Why would anyone cancel such a superb deal?

X200 Available in Australia at lenovo.com.au

Only the 2.4Ghz with no SSD for $2,999.00. Disappointing price seeing the exchange rate of AU$ to US$ is almost 1:1 :-(
