It would need to be an active cable though, so you're probably looking at a price similar to the apple product. I find it strange that Lenovo does not provide one.
Accell just released an DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI adapter:
http://www.accellcables.com/products/Di ... p_dvid.htm. I recently bought one and can confirm that it can output 2560x1600. However, I have not been able to get a satisfactory experience with the two DisplayPort to DVI adapters I own. I have talked about the issues in this post:
http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... ayport+dvi. jeroen020, could you share whether you have similar issues with your 2560x1600 setup? If you do get this DisplayPort to Dual Link DVI adapter, could you please share your experience? I am trying to diagnose the flickering in my setup.
Thanks

I have not seen any flickering in my set-up at 2560x1600 via direct DisplayPort on the dock of my x200s, it's been working very well for me.
I would be interested to try out the accell adapter to dual-link DVI but probably have to find a store that ships to Europe (I'm in The Netherlands). Also, how much is this adapter?

I went through the list of merchants here:
http://www.accellcables.com/purchase/index.html and eventually bought it from Sewelldirect because they were the only ones that carried it at the time. It costed roughly $110 for me.

Can I drive a 2560x1600 30" (DisplayPort) display AND a 1920x1200 24" display (VGA) simultaneously?
I'm running 2 24" displays right now and could (always) use a little more resolution.

Do you have Dell's sound bar attachment on the 3008WFP? I'm curious whether the DisplayPort connector between your X200 and the Dell 30" monitor is capable of carrying audio. Supposedly DisplayPort, along with HDMI, is capable of audio pass through, at least that's what specs at displayport.org say. It would certainly reduce cable clutter if that was so. I'd imagine there is also a driver involved for that to work, be it built in to Windows or comes with the monitor.

Tableteer,
AFAICT, Lenovo still doesn't ship any systems that pass audio through DisplayPort. See this post by one of the top guys at Lenovo:

USB Audio is an alternative. I am planning on connect speakers to my ThinkPad this way: laptop <-> monitor with one USB cable and one DisplayPort cable, speakers <-> monitor over USB.
I found that the X301 speakers work acceptably for system sounds and even when the lid is closed. Not the best sound quality but you can hear what's happening.

The T61 docks have a S/PDIF output, the X200 docks not?
