Lenovo Australia drops the ball on X200 - urgh!

I'm very interested in purchasing a new X200, and have been awaiting its appearance on Lenovo's Australian website.
Great - it's there! Oh no - its freaking AUD3k (US2700) !! one-spec only, with the price 2999.01 struck out, and the SAVE 0.01 price of 2,999.00 You gotta be kidding me!
I immediately specced-up a similar config on the US site and arrived at a cost of approx USD1700. And thats before all of those coupon discounts etc you in the USA get (and we don't) Even allowing for our 10% GST (sales tax) the Aussie X200 is still more than $750 (45%) over the US price.
I called Lenovo and asked if the price was correct - it was. I related the above example, and got a torrent of garbage about smaller market, higher overheads per unit sold etc etc.
I asked why then, with the X300, there's only a $200-300 difference? Silence, then a "well that's our price" and a hang-up.
Infuriating.
So, can anyone please direct me to a legit, non-ebay source who'll ship internationally? Please please.
