I am planning onto go paperless (and searchable) for my work life by investing on getting a tablet pc. I do work on programmings and data processing some time. I do have a heavy 15.4" T60 with lovely IPS SXGA+ screen. The software packages that I use include: MSOffice, Firefox, EndNote, R, MATLAB, Allegro Lisp, Cygwin stuff, WMPlayer, iTune, Adobe CS3 (mainly Acrobat, others very occasionally). But on the tablet, I think I'll mainly be using mainly MSOffice (OneNote), EverNote, Firefox, EndNote, Adobe Acrobat, some PDF Annotation packages, some light programming and text editing software packages.
Here're my candidates.

1. Fujitsu T2010

Pro:
- Amazing superb screen in all reviews out there, esp the outdoor version
- Super battery life due to ULV processor (and lack of bloatware), easily exceed 4.5 hrs (and many up to 7 hrs) on their standard 6-cell battery "The battery life really frees me to use it in situations that I may have had to make another decision."
- Bi-directional hinge for screen rotation
- Very lightweight for an 12.1 inch (~3.5lbs)

Con:
- Keyboard flex
- No latch for the screen

2. ThinkPad X200 Tablet

Pro:
- ThinkPad keyboard
- ThinkPad grade TrackPoint
- More solid build and no flex (T2010 is solid also)
- WebCam?
- Capacitive touch panel and multi-touch enabling software similar to Dell XT? (just a hope...)

Concerns:
- ULV CPU is in the leaked spec of X200t alongside with the LV CPU, does ULV improve a lot the battery life? It is quite unacceptable to see many reviews say that only <3 hrs can be resulted from the 4 cell battery standard of Lenovo. I really hope X200 can reach the battery life level of T2010.
- Weight - 8 cell battery is going to make the tablet really heavy
- Will the new X200 tablet has LED backlight technology that surpass the brilliant screen quality of Fujitsu T2010?
- Various problems of X60t & X61t that bother the users (e.g. Bezel problems, dirt & oil-catching issue of the coating on Superview screen)



The bottomline: I am going to mainly use it for reading and document processing, and note-taking. So 1. screen-quality (readability and inking experience), and mobility (2. weight & 3. battery life) are all very important. And at the moment, Fujitsu T2010 seems to be leading, although I really prefer a Thinkpad if they can improve in these 3 crucial aspects for a tablet PC.

If you can wait you should. If the X200 has a LED screen and a ULV then it is certainly better than the Fujitsu T2010 already. If not you can always buy a T2010 at that time for a cheaper price since it has a last generation chipset.
