Does it make sense to get the Integrated ____ (Verizon, AT&T, etc.) Mobile Broadband add on or is it more economical to get a USB or express card later on?

Does integrated mean built in as it relates to this issue?

Portability, it is always ready. No sticking-out thingy from your notebook.

You get a better antenna with integrated.

I move my Sprint PCMCIA card between machines - so integrated won't work for me. With AT&T - I think you can just move the SIM card. I also like the idea of being able to switch carriers.

I use an external card, not integrated, but the IP is not dedicated and I don't think that is a function of external or integrated. ... JDH

Not with my wireless carrier - just with my DSL carrier. The wireless terms of service forbid any of the applications that might normally require a fixed IP address anyway. They may offer one at some special rate - but the regular consumer accounts are DHCP.
