i got my x200 (7458-5TG) last monday :)
i'm pretty happy with it up to now. however, i want to replace the german keyboard with one having the us-layout.
the x200 appears to have the same keyboard as the t400/500.
does someone know if i can replace it with a keyboard from the t60/61 series?
thanks!

I am very interested in this as well. Is there any new X200 owner who also happens to be a T60/61 owner?

Hi ca1vin,

I am currently in the US, just bought a X200 and would like to go the other way. I am from Germany and would like to get a German keyboard for the X200...

Maybe we can figure something out, if you havn't found a solution.

Otherwise I would be glad if someone could point me where to get replacement parts (a German keyboard) as the Lenovo support site does not list the X200 parts at the moment.

so, i just got a t61 keyboard.....

but it does NOT fit!
there's a small metal border around the mouse buttons. this is not the case for the x200 keyboard.

i guess i have to order the original keyboard.
does anyone know whether it is already available in europe?

i wish i saw this thread back on the 11th to let you know that the X200 keyboard is unique to the X200.   it has four screw locations in the bottom where the T6x/T4xx/T5xx keyboard has only one.

in the future, it's best to find your system's hardware maintenance manual and compare parts.   in the case of keyboards, it's safe to say that if the bolt pattern is different then they won't fit any other machine.

thanks for the information.
certainly a good idea to check the manuals...
don't know why I haven't thought of that before.
