X200 doesn't go to sleep when on battery

For some reason my X200 doesn't go on sleep mode when on battery, and then the explorer window crashes. This means that I have to do a hard reboot (press power for 5 seconds).

Anyone seen this behaviour? I'm guessing is driver related, but I updated all drivers just yesterday.

I'm running Win Vista Business 64-bit. I've turned all the Aero stuff off to gain performance, but, man, this OS is a blotted beast.

The only reason I went with this OS version was to use the full 4 GB of RAM (which was Lenovo pre-installed--I got a good deal). Nevertheless, I'm considering "downgrading" to WinXP (and forgo the extra GB of RAM).

Greetings:

While I don't have an answer on the sleep issue (my order was delayed last night by one week, and then another week this morning making it a total of four weeks if it ships on time), on the bloat issue, I did see http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=144783

I've not had the opportunity to try it out, but it may be helpful.

Thank you.

I feel for your wait. It will be worth it, I think. And thanks for the response.

I'll check out that link. In the mean time, I have actually considered downgrading to XP. We'll see...

have you considered downgrade to xp 64bit? its less bloated and you can still use your 4g's of ram
