ThinkPad X200 built in Verizon Wireless keeps disconnecting

#1 Post by dynamicnet » Tue Sep 30, 2008 8:31 pm

Greetings:

I just got my new ThinkPad X200 today, and got set up with Verizon Wirelss.

After connecting to Verizon:

1. The ThinkVantage Active Connection Manager bombs out blaming Data Execution Protection (DEP). However, after disabling DEP, it still bombs out.

2. Within 5 to 15 minutes, I get disconnected from Verizon. Sometimes I can reconnect, but most of the time, I need to reboot and start over.

I did run ThinkVantage to get all updates from th start, and Windows Vista Business 64 is up to date.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Thank you.

Greetings:

Status update:

I called Lenovo technical support, and they are having me exchange the brand new (just came in yesterday) unit with a new one.

The exchange process is interesting as you have to place a brand new order, pay for the order, then go through sales and returns to get an RMA, and they only credit back on the original order after the receipt, qa check, and 8 to 10 days later.

Hopefully the exchange (new) replacement ThinkPad X200 will not have the same problem.

Thank you.

Did the new one fix the problem? They are asking me to send my unit in for the same issue...
