what is the difference between the 3-1 and the 5-1 w/model. Besides the obvious modem. The "help me choose" link doesn't elaborate.

The first number indicates the number of card types it supports. Usually they have memorystick, SD, and multimediacard. The more option ones usually include the memorystick pro, xd, smartmedia, and/or compact flash. Each has it's own purpose and there are more types. Those are just the most commen. I don't know which ones lenovo offers either.

I wasn't able to find out the details yet, other then that neither supports compact flash.
