X200 Problems with Microsoft Office

#1 Post by Hudson » Sat Oct 18, 2008 8:33 am

Hello,

I was trying the trial version of MS office student teacher on my computer when my computer completely froze and I had to use the power button to reboot it. After I did this I could no longer use my Outlook it tells me to repair it using .PST. I have tried and tried I couldn't fix it or even find it.

I now purchased Office Ultimate through my student website and I installed it last night. I went to use Outlook and it still gives me the same error message that I need to repair it with PSTSCAN. I uninstalled everything and reinstalled it again and still I can't use Outlook. I went on MS site to see if there is a fix and I still can't find anything. I can't even call customer service without getting charged $50 to talk to someone.

I have installed Thunderbird to get me by until I can figure this out hopfully, I would however perfer to use Outlook. If there is anyone who can I would greatly appreciate your time.

Update: I finally figured it out, I was unable to follow the path to where I needed to repair the corrupt file. I finally after a few days of on agin and off again trying to locate, I finally did and was able to repair the inbox etc. I used scanpst.exe to fix the problem, the only hard part was locating the file. It is simple now that I have done it which hind site is 20/20 lol.

Thanks
