Does anybody know anything about a X301 with an SL7200 processor?

The only reason I'm considering the X301 over the X200s is the 13.3" WXGA+ display option. I wish Lenovo and other manufacturers would provide more options with 13.3" displays.

I hope they go with a faster processor from the SL series instead of the SU for the next revision of the x301/302

I noticed that the next iteration of the SU series is coming out slowly and Sony has adopted it already for the TT Vaio. You can pre-order the laptop on some sites already, hinting to an update anytime now.

I don't know if it is possible to withdraw a question or post, but the query I posted about a SL 7200 processor was based on an incorrect identification of the processor in an X301 for sale on eBay. Sorry for the distraction or confusion I may have caused.

SL9600 = 2.13ghz, 6mb L2 cache, FSB 1066 mhz, 17w power draw.

SU9600 = 1.6ghz, 3mb L2 cache, FSB 800 mhz, 10w power draw.
(some say there's a 2.0ghz)

a 2.0 ghz SU9600 would be nice with faster cache and FSB without sacrificing battery time.

I am on my 2nd X301, my first had a little hesitation problem but my new X301 does not. I could not be more impressed with my latest as it has the best screen I have had in a while and has more than enough power to do CS4 and Office 2007 with ease.

I had gone back to another W500 but when the screen went bad, I sold it and went straight back to the X301. For it's size and weight, I have found no better. The biggest surprise is the screen, I find it sharp, bright and with enough resolution I do not need to do any scrolling under normal use. :lol:

I also found the Diskeeper Pro software with HyperFast DID indeed make my laptop more "responsive". After a week of use, I have no doubt it helped, though I do not know why. :banana:

I will be sticking with it till something better comes along.
