Some X301 questions (DisplayPort/Fan/Memory)

I am very interested in the X301 and have some questions:
1) I'd like to go for 4 GB of RAM - is it possible to use 4 GB of DDR3 or will I have to "downgrade" to DDR2? (some X301 datasheets say 2 GB DDR3 or 4 GB DDR2, but I can't really believe that)
2) How audible is the fan? At idle? At full load?
3) Has anyone positively tested the X301 driving a 30" monitor at native resolution (2560 x 1600) via DisplayPort? If yes, does this also work with extended desktop (1440 x 900 + 2560 x 1600 at the same time)?
4) Is it possible to exchange the positions of Fn and Ctrl somehow (by software), so that the Ctrl key takes the leftmost key in the bottom row of the keyboard?
Best regards,
Andreas
