x200 ATT WWAN Unreliability

#1 Post by brucewilsonpa » Mon Nov 24, 2008 10:59 am

Is anyone who has AT&T WWAN experiencing dropped calls? I've been plagued by my WWAN connection either shutting down or dropping the internet and remaining "connected locally" (therefore of little use) -- I can't seem to pinpoint whether this is AT&T signal (the modem manger software consistently shows a strong signal) or something in the software. I'm so frustrated I'm thinking of switching to Verizon but that might not be any better.

Are you using Access Connections? Others have reported problems with Access Connections. I posted an alternative in the other thread:

No - at your suggestion I got rid of Access Connections -- I use the WinVista applet for wifi and the AT&T applet for WWAN -- I've found the AT&T Communication Mgr pretty good, but it could be a factor I realize.
