X300/301 Port Replicator Query

Could anyone who uses the Enhanced USB Replicator with an X300 or 301 please clarify the following;

I'm debating purchasing either an X200 or X301.
The X301 is a neat system but has a major pitfall for me... no dockings station.

The goal is to use a separate LCD display and std keyboard along with a KVM switch when I'm working from home ( and switch between two PCs)

I undertand you can connect an LCD and standard keyboard to the X301 using the Enh USB Repl but does this mean the X301 must be "open" ?
When working from home the ideal state would be to have the X301 closed but running as it would if in a Dock.
I'm assuming if you close the X301 lid to save space it'll go into sleep mode.

Keen to hear any thought on this.

Don't know about the X300/301 and its port replicator etc, but even my T40 has "When I close the lid of my portable computer" Do nothing / standby / hibernate settings under the Advanced tab of the "Power Options Properties" (launchable from ThinkVantage ThinkPad Configuration / Power Management), which should help.

Thanks Amardeep,
This sounds like a solution.
IE set to "do nothing"
Boot up from laptop in normal manner
Close the lid.

Many thanks, Nigel
