Im just wondering what type of WWAN modems can be installed into the x200. I live in australia and the company that i wanna subscibe to uses the 2100MHZ and 900MHZ frequencies. I want to order a Sierra wireless mc8775 embedded modules cos i hate usbs, do you think itll work?

The MC8775 might work but it is probably not whitelisted in the BIOS so it will bother you. According to the hardware manual the Ericsson F3507g is what ships with the X200. The Lenovo version is definitely whitelisted in the BIOS, don't know about aftermarket ones.

There's no Sierra Wireless card whitelisted in X200 BIOS.

05C6:9201
05C6:9202
0BDB:1900 Ericsson F3507g

These cards are. Don't know what the first two are, the vendor ID seems like being Qualcomm itself (?).

Either get Lenovo-branded Ericsson F3507g, or you will need patched BIOS for your machine to boot.

the problem is that Lenovo australia doesn't offer that ericsson card at the moment, and i cant find anyone that sells that card.

anyways would adding the mc8775 to the bios whitelist be the same as the procedure for the T61 post about this that was posted a while ago
