Anyone put more than 4GB of memory in an X301?

i am wondering the same question myself. got an x300 here but both are sister models.

The 4GB memory stick on crucial's website is too expensive for me. Maybe for my future X303.

Not really. X301 is built on a newer Intel platform / chipset, so if the memory worked in X301, then X300 would not be guaranteed. That's a separate question. Of course you do know you'll need a 64-bit OS version as well...

i know i will upgrade to 64 bit after the 4gb memory becomes cheaper and after i become eligable for my sweet EEP discount.

That's the second time I've seen you mention that. Taunting others about discounts is not allowed. Discussions of student and similar restricted discounts is not allowed. Do not bring it up again.
