Hi Thinkpad Community,
I am the proud new owner of a x200 with the new P8700 2.53GHZ C2D proc (yay, price mistake!) and I have a couple of quick questions. Thanks in advance for your help.
1. Intel Turbo Memory-- I plan on buying and installing the 4GB version myself. However, I understand that the one sold on Amazon/online is NOT the correct size / version for the x200. I have the lenovo part number for the 2GB (42T0991) but cannot find the 4GB part number, nor can I actually find it being sold from lenovo. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Looking at other forum posts x200 requires the "half" size version.
2. Lenovo branded RAM-- I plan on upgrading to 4GB of RAM on my own but I know that the x200 takes DDR3 RAM. I've looked on Newegg and Pricegrabber, cheapest 2GB sticks are ~$40 (G.SKILL). However, there are 3rd party sellers selling Lenovo RAM for $50. I wouldn't mind paying the extra $10 if Lenovo has higher quality sticks. Any opinions?
3. Intel WiFi 5300 vs 5100-- I ordered the x200 with the 5100 but looking at the research online afterwards, regret slightly not just paying for more. I believe I can do the upgrade myself though (around the same price for the part, it's $30 for the 5300). Anyone have problems with 5100 or have really good experiences with the 5300? It just looks like the 5300 has more antenaes and therefore in theory stronger reception abilities.
4. Power adapters-- Small question, I would like to buy extra power adapters so I don't need to uplug from my wall. Where do you guys usually go to get these? Is eBay reliable enough?
X200 -- Turbo Memory? Extra RAM? WiFi Card? Power Bricks?

Newegg has power adapters
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... novo%2065w
I think its cheaper to get them direct from lenovo under the CPP though.
5300>5100 only in cases of 11n use. 11g use does not make use of MIMO.
RAM > turbo memory, so max that out first.

Thanks, I already plan on maxing RAM to 4GB. No one knows where I can get the half-sized 4GB Turbo Memory?
I will check CPP power adapters, I didn't know CPP discount applied to accessories, thanks.
And thanks for explanation of 5100, you're right, I don't need the draft-N.

For the Power Brick look at the W90 travel adapter it is small enough to fit in a small envelope and will charge the computer and a cell phone at the same time. Very impressed I keep one in both of my cars, one in my travel luggage.
Thank you,
