X200 Beeps when powered off/on

My computer beeps when powered on/off. I see the option in Power Manager to turn it off-- however when I uncheck the box and click apply and then OK, I go back into power manager and the box is checked again. It refuses to stay unchecked.

I have reinstalled power manager three times and the power management driver once. Is there any other way to turn off that beep?? Thanks

Yes, there is a setting for the "Power Control Beep" in the "Beep and Alarm" section in Config in the Bios Setup Utility. You probably already know this but you get to the bios setup by pressing F1 at the ThinkPad logo when the computer first starts up.
