found some brilliant and helpfull close up pictures and comparison photos of the new x301 next to a x60

This is good cause you can get a feel for how thin the x301 is and it's size in proportion to the x60.

I really like the x301...it really the closest thinkpad which brings back the true "Thinkpad IBM design feel". The size, thinness (less than 1") and weight is what has me drooling to get one. But I'm holding off for the next update of it from lenovo, hopefully even more power.

Here's the giant set of x301 with x60 photos.

Great link!

says a lot.

Again, the wasted bezel space on the latest Lenovo models. The 13.3" widescreen is shorter vertically than a 12.1" standard, but the X301 is so much taller than an X60.

However, in this case, there is at least some justification for it - it is the only way a touchpad could be squeezed into the palmrest.

Yep...

one of the things I miss when IBM had the line...was the thinkpads were really "black" and not the new lenovo sort of charcoal black. lol

if you look at the picture in your link you see the difference in blackness.

I also noticed this difference a while back. I was wondering why they changed that and where this difference comes from (plastic, color) :?
