I would ask the modders around here that are more experienced ....
I have been dancing on the fence for a sxga+ X61 or the led ips wxga x200. I cannot help myself to the current x200t - the mediocrity of wxga is painful and there is no medical(psychological) relief to it, although the image quality is much better than in the other series of TP. And since I am into a T60 14.1 UXGA mod (that would offer a 143 dpi) i am starting to think if it is possible to separate the touch panel from the LCD and insert a highres panel from the x200s (i know it is inferior in many ways, except the resolution)?
I've been encouraged by http://www.thinkpads.com/2009/03/06/add ... nt-page-1/ (although I realise that the s10 touch kit is a passive version) and also by the making of a x61 sxga+ nontablet described at http://lenovoblogs.com/connections/?p=59. The mod I suggested would be somewhat in reverse of what Erik did.
Thoughts? Anticipations? Doable? Rates of success? What do you think? Is it possible to unglue the touch part of the screen and put it back? Or would it be better to just "compose" the screen back from separate parts, i.e. new FRUs?
Thanks.
Edit: Clearer title. Less emotion.
