#1 Post by ludu35 » Thu Mar 26, 2009 8:43 pm

Hello
Just got a X200, with 128GB SSD Samsung drive (love it), and i installed it with Vista 64bit, everything and every drivers are fine, BUT except for one and I think it is Intel Turbo Memory
Can someone help me to solve this problem? where can i find the driver for it?
And BTW, where can i locate that Intel Turbo Memory module?
Thanks in advance for all your helps

Not exactly an answer to your question, but AFAIK Intel Turbo Memory is not compatible/configurable at the same time with SSD. To my best knowledge, one of the reasons for this is that it has negative impact on the performance of the SSD.
IBM Lenovo Z61p | 15.4'' WUXGA | Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 2x 2.16GHz | 4 GB Kingston HyperX | Hitachi 7K500 500 GB + WD 1TB (USB) | ATI Mobility FireGL V5200 | ThinkPad Atheros a/b/g | Analog Devices AD1981HD | Win 7 x86 + ArchLinux 2009.08 x64 (number crunching)

Hi Marin85
So should I unplug that Intel Turbo module?
BTW, is it located under keyboard?
Thanks

I´m not aware of any real-life case where users have experienced any noticeable performance gain from Intel Turbo Memory. In fact, there are many reports about problems with the Intel Turbo Memory (hangs, crashes, etc). So, if I was you, I would disable/remove it (you don´t necessarily need to remove it physically). AFAIK, Intel Turbo Memory is a mini-PCIe card, so it must be located somewhere under the keyboard (if your ThinkPad really has it installed).

Yes, fresh install from DELL Vista 64bit
Anyway, I got it working now, no ! in Device Manager.

But, frankly speaking I dont see or dont know where the Intel Turbo memory card located, I did try to open keyboard and Palmrest, but all I can only recognized
- ATT card
- Intel Wireless 5100

Thanks
