X300 & Firewire Device - How to Connect?

#1 Post by dry_jim » Sun Apr 19, 2009 6:45 am

Gents,

Could any of you recommend a way for me to hook up my firewire device (a film scanner) to my X300 laptop?

I think an external hub is the only way to go. Have any of you done this? And which model should I be considering?

Thanks in advance for your help.

One possible solution is to use a 1394a/b (iLINK) ExpressCard & a ExpressCard to USB adapter.

I have had success using this method connecting a clients ExpressCard 3G modem with this type of ExpressCard to USB adapter on an X300 - :thumbs-UP:
