Hi all,

I've got a real noob question  . There are a lot of clean install guides for Thinkpads, but I can not find one clear guide regarding the x300. I know the procedures are all about the same, but nevertheless I think there can be differences in terms of needed drivers since the hardware differs.

So, I was looking for a list of hardware drivers that I have to get from Lenovo before doing a clean Vista install using my Anytime Upgrade DVD in combination with OREV's backup tool. Also I was looking for the right sequence for installing them.

Lenovo has this Thinkvantage System Update tool to get the necessary drivers. Could this be usefull? Only problem I see with this tool is that you have to be connected to the internet, and you're not if you haven't even installed any chipset drivers... so that may not be a quick solution.

Thanks in advance.

Well I've found a good solution (from others).

I've done a clean vista install, did an off line sp1 and sp2 install. Installed the chipset drivers and finally the wireless lan drivers.

Then I've used Thinkvatage System Update to install all the drivers I need (and want). This really is a very usefull tool from Lenovo. I'm very thankfull for this tool. It even does a BIOS update.

So that's all I needed to know :D.
