Here is my current quote, what do you think? This if for the standard x200 with ultrabase and dvd burner, 3 year warranty for $1200 even 1 gig of ram that I'll upgrade. Can this machine handle a 4gig stick of ram? EDIT wow just checked the price for a 4gig stick, $300 that is crazy

I would get the Intel 5300 wifi card instead of the 5100 if it is available. It's just a better card IMHO. The price seems average, nothing special.

What would be a good price?
"normal" website price is about $1,700 "from" ie no one ever pays is $2,200

I got my X200 for $750 9 months ago for this configuration:
P8400/9-cell battery/2GB RAM/160GB 5400rpm HDD/AT&T WWAN card/Intel Wifi 5300AGN with no ultrabase, fingerprint, nor bluetooth
I'd say that this is a good deal, but I had to do a little bit of gamble, because the laptop doesn't come with any accessory.
Unless you're comfortable with keeping a lookout for good deal on ebay, I think you should just close the deal you currently have.

New or used?
That system would be about $800 with a 250GB drive right now new with shipping

It's used. But considering prices 9 months ago, it's a steal. Also, I sold off my WWAN card recently so I spend a total of $650 for the laptop.

Canadians get the shaft on this site for reporting deals, here's the link with the details i used to snipe mine:
http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/leno ... in-777107/
i think i got a really good deal, at least i can't complain.
x200
vista basic
p8600
2gb ram 1 dim
250gb hard drive
***1280x800 screen with LED backlight ****
intel 5300, bluetooth, webcam
9 cell battery
ultrabase with cd-rw/dvd-rom
came to 1250 CDN including taxes and extra fees. i added on a 2GB dimm for 40 bucks after that. also maybe someone could notice the LED back light, i think it was an error, cause selecting it took -170 off the price haha. i am 99% sure this x200 is in fact rocking that LED backlight too, this laptop is sooo sweet, i got 8:55 hours left at 81% full, and around 2/3 brightness.
