X200s USB socket extremely tight

I just received my new X200s. Everything is as expected, expect for one of the USB sockets. The left rear socket is tighter than any USB socket I have ever used. The two front sockets are on the firm side of normal and have a nice positive feel, so no problem there. The left rear socket requires considerable force to insert a USB plug fully and extreme force to remove it. I tried a few different USB devices and the results are the same. The tight socket does work, but the amount of force needed is such that I am concerned about breaking something, probably just after my 1-year warranty expires. I think I need to return the machine as faulty. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Put a little Vaseline on a USB plug (shell only) and insert/remove it a few times. Do not glob it on, just a light coat ...

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried this but it didn't help. It's still a tug of war getting the plug out.

Well, there is no adjustment. Return the machine or get a warranty repair from Lenovo.

My X200s has a tight left rear USB port as well. Same problem as yours. I think most X200s models will be like this. It would be pointless to return it. Just slide each USB device in firmly and slowly. Everything should be okay and it should loosen up with time.

better a tight USB plug than one that's too loose and falls out all the time. Maybe it will loosen up with use?

It's useful to know that other X200s machines are like this as well. In that case I agree it would be pointless to return it, and I will need a combination of careful technique and finger-strengthening exercises! As force has said, it may loosen a bit with use. I will leave a USB lead plugged in when not using the machine in the hope that this will speed up the loosening process.
