No DVD drive... can I boot using external USB DVD drive?

#1 Post by phil81uk » Mon Sep 14, 2009 5:37 pm

I just ordered an X301, but without the CD/DVD drive as I very rarely need it. It just dawned on me that I will need to install a new Operating System from a DVD. Does anyone know if I can use a regular USB CD/DVD drive and boot from it?

Thanks!

Yes or alternatively a USB stick (prepared properly).
