X200 Sound too soft -- Driver Issue?

#1 Post by mooingmooseman » Wed Oct 14, 2009 3:32 pm

I ran system update AND windows update and suddenly my speakers are SIGNIFICANTLY softer. 100% is now the equivalent of the old 25%.

I'm not sure what did this but does anyone know how to fix it? I already looked in the sound controls, everything is turned up to the max.

I too had "soft" (tinny) sound with my X200, followed by crackling "pop" at the end of audio file playback. Do you also get the popping sound?

There's plenty of driver versions of the Conexant to roll back to as a test, the trick will be locating an older version.
