Can I change my WWAN module?

I ordered the AT&T (Ericsson) module when I got my X200s. AT&T (at least in this area/state/region) sucks.

Now I'd like to swap the module with one of the new Gobi 1000 + GPS modules from Qualcomm.

However, I can't find a SKU/FRU for it in tabook.

Anyone have any ideas how (and where to get the module) to do this?

Thanks!

The Gunny

I think you maybe looking for the Qualcomm UNDP1 - Wireless WAN card - FRU: 42T0961 (aka: 43R9151) - GPS is also supported according to Lenovo

Also see forum member: rokahn post - Verizon WAN: Ericsson 43R9151 vs Gobi 1000 which may have some useful info etc.

Forum member: jackky has x2(?) for sale in the forum members Marketplace

Thanks, Peak.

I now have *3* different part numbers, all *seemingly* of the same part:

42T0961
57Y4485
43R9151

What's the difference?

Which should I order?

Well, I personally would opt for the marketing versions: 43R9151 or 57Y4485 as you will probably find that they are both cost effective over FRU: 42T0961 - However the spec's on the Lenovo website for 57Y4485 does not mention EV-DO directly and suggest that this be investigated further with Lenovo.
