No fingerpring on bootup

Hi. My T60 used to take a fingerprint on bootup right at the start (as part of the bios me thinks). But my X301 does not. I looked in the Bios settings and could not find anything to get it to take a fingerprint. Entering a password is a pain!

Could this have something to do with the Solid State Drive?

Thanks.

Have you installed the fingerprint scanner drivers for Windows?

When it arrived from the factory and I first booted it it asked me to enrol fingerprints. I did, and there after it took a fingerprint on the Windows logon page, but not on bootup.

Visionviper, does your X301 take a fingerprint on bootup?

I don't have the fingerprint software installed/configured on my machine.

You need to have it installed then enable it for power on.

I know. That's why I was asking the OP if he had it installed. Which he does.

Hi. There it was, in the fingerprint software, an option to enable fingerprint in place of power-on password.

Thanks!

PS. I have to swipe twice - once on power on, and once on the windows logon. My T60 used to automatically log me on - is that possible on the X301?

There is a setting for using fingerprint logon. Disable that setting. If it still doesn't log you on automatically you need to change your use account in Windows to automatically log you in.

Sorted. Set Windows to log me on automatically.

Thank you.
