I assume at least some of you are aware of the high pitched whining problem that lenovo (and presumably other laptops) are plagued with. From what I understand, there are ways to "fix" it by tweaking the power settings (mainly via the processor state settings). All of a sudden my X200 has been making noises that are becoming more and more significant--I'm OCD and can't take it anymore.
Do you guys have recommendations for settings? Are there other utilities I can install to help with the problem? If so, any recommended settings? Also, if your suggested changes depend on whether the laptop is on battery or A/C power, please indicate such.
Thanks in advance.
Bonus points if you want to explain in lamens terms why this happens and why exactly your settings fix it. Certainly not needed though, just whatever the fix is!
