Hi,

Just got my x200 today, overall very happy. annoyed at the seller that its a German manual and charger, but the laptops laid out to a British standard and am happy with it.

Upon looking at the bios I notice a lot of new Intel features 'virtulization' etc etc.. most of them seem disabled by default, is there a definition of what all those things do?

also what out of my 90 processes running isn't needed!

and is there anything else i should look out for to speed it up ?

it's a 2.4 2gb ram model.. and is already very nippy, but i can't stand the thinking light flashing for hours on end.

Could you do a screen capture and post the image here - would be easier to consult based on extra info given.

For system tweaks (you running Windows 7 ? ), you could always take a look at this site: ---> http://www.blackviper.com/Windows_7/servicecfg.htm
Also do a search here in the forums and you'll get plenty of results regarding this question.

If you mean the hard drive light flickering, then it's probably attributed to Windows Indexing service and/or Prefetch. You can disable both as they're not really super necessary... To disable either or both take a look at the link I posted above.

Enjoy your x200!

Or be a bit more patient. As indexing service will index all the data your hdd will get more peaceful.

Does anybody knows what is the different between the processor that has a "red sticker" and one with "white-yellow sticker" both says P8600 v-pro technology?

Oops, forgot. My congrats for the new purchase, enjoy your new laptop.
I also face same problem as you, i encounter slowness at started to the extend that I hv to stop the Roxio disk watcher to make it faster. There is this other message regarding ntpclient clock sync issue, i have change a couple of registry settings but it doesn't help either. BTW, jiust received my x200 2 weeks ago.
