Does Thinkpad have an emergency battery?

So I had my x200 in sleep mode one day with the battery out of it, when one of my family members unplugged it. Half an hour later, I return and turn the computer back on, and it comes out of sleep, not starts up from scratch. Does this mean my Thinkpad has another battery inside of it?
