Where is the X310
Honestly, the x301 is getting long in the tooth.

Re: Where is the X310
Based on the information I have the X3 series won't be updated this year. Also X301 is the newest since X200/T400/T500 were introduced.

In comparison to some of the other models, it is just a young kid. I hear they will update it in 2011.CannedCorn wrote:Honestly, the x301 is getting long in the tooth.
I have owned three and honestly the last one with the faster processor and Win7 is a screamer in comparison to the first two X301 units. I attribute 90% of the performance gain to Win7!

On slightly different note, how would you compare the x301 to x200 Tablet in terms of overall keyboard quality?Greg Gebhardt wrote:

Actually, I just spoke with lenovo trying to buy one and they said the X310 will be out "within the month." So... does anyone here have good information?

I also own the later model X301 with the Core 2 Duo SU9600 / 1.6 GHz ULV, WIn 7, and the 128GB SSD. I agree it is fast.Greg Gebhardt wrote:I have owned three and honestly the last one with the faster processor and Win7 is a screamer in comparison to the first two X301 units.
Re: Where is the X310
The challenge _is_ getting accurate info from the sales channel. I also spoke to them today about a few different models, and two other models I have on order. I have learned through rather frequent contact, that its best to call a couple of times, back to back if time permits. While one shouldn't have to do that, it's nearly impossible to get accurate info on current models much less future models. When I asked about the successor to the X301 I was told they have no plans to replace it anytime soon. So, who knows. Time did not permit another call to them.CannedCorn wrote:Actually, I just spoke with lenovo trying to buy one and they said the X310 will be out "within the month." If they were dropping the unit you would think they would want to unload the machines they still have left.CannedCorn wrote:Actually they even refused to build me an X301 "no longer available"

According to this:

X301 is going to be longer in the tooth for another year.

Not surprised, given the low volume, it's not critical that Lenovo update X301.

Don't know how accurate that roadmap is, Lenovo just released t410i/t510i and t410is, which are not shown on the roadmap

Re: Where is the X310
It always amazes me how we can have so many "different" stories when it comes to new hardware. The people at Lenovo told me nothing new till 2011 for the X301 and now someone hears in just a few weeks!

Re: Where is the X310
I really wish there's at least an update on the cpu for the x301.
core 2 duo isn't exactly what a flagship model should be using in 2010.

Re: Where is the X310
Word up. I read an article that speculated Intel is holding back on new CULV processors and kind of gauging how Arrandale performs with the manufacturers. Acer apprarently rejected using CULVs and opted for the i series in their Timeline line due a 5% decline in sales owing to customer disatisfaction with power. So maybe the refresh, if any, is contingent on what Intel does.
